Family History
I serve in the community as a senior companion. I love this service because the people I serve share their memories with me, and we discuss their life experiences. These conversations encourage me to look into my own family line and create a family tree on family search.
In this process, I find the direction Heavenly Father is leading me in helping my ancestors accept the gospel, and as I follow that journey, I end up serving my family on the other side of the veil and can take their names through the temple. I find great joy in serving on this side of the veil and on the other side of the veil.
“Bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light … mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and stand as a witness of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God and have eternal life.” Mosiah 18:8-9
When we serve on the earth and those that have left the earth, we are acting as God’s hands and feet.
