Family History
“The scriptures, which are the revelations of the past, cannot be understood without openness to the revelations of the present. A study of the scriptures enables men and women to receive revelations.” Dallin H. Oaks, “Scripture Reading and Revelation,” Ensign, Jan. 1995,7.
We must understand and learn from the past, while in the present, to create a future that is successful. This is true concerning the engagement of family history work.
Without past revelations from the church and past revelations from our ancestors that are personal to our family, this work could not go forward in the most effective way possible.
We are enabled by the past to follow the straight and narrow path to eternal exaltation which is possible through revelation we receive through scripture study and through the investigative efforts we put forth personally in learning about our past generations.

Below is a picture of Charity Lovshin sharing the scriptures in a social media post, and a picture of her in front of a tree on the grounds of the Idaho Falls Temple. The tree reminds her of her nephew, Jett Lovshin, who died when he was seven.
