Press Forward in Christ As We Keep His Commandments

John 14:15. “If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

Christ’s commandments are a manifestation of His love for us and us following them shows obedience to Him and is an expression of our love for Him. The commandment “Honor Thy Mother and Father” I have done that by doing my parent’s work and their and my ancestors by sealing our family members for eternity.

Obedience in keeping the commandments makes us progressively stronger and more capable of faithfully enduring tests and trials in the future.

Each Sunday, we renew that baptismal covenant by partaking of the sacrament and witnessing that we are willing to keep the commandments.

Almost every commandment we receive from Heavenly Father is accompanied by a promised blessing. Obedience to the commandments brings freedom, personal growth, protection from danger, and many other temporal and spiritual blessings. Ultimately, our obedience can lead to eternal life in the presence of Heavenly Father.
