We began today’s lesson singing Hymn #100—"Nearer My God To Thee.”
This hymn reminds us, and today’s lesson reminds us, that we choose to be near to God. God always wants to be near to us. In order to be near Him in His kingdom, we must follow His commandments.
In the parable of “The Royal Marriage Feast” found in Matthew 22:1-14, we see that to be where He invites us to be, we must respect His laws and keep His commandments.
We must be prepared for the feast that He has prepared for us.
We must accept the invitation.
We must come to the feast.
We must dress appropriately.
We must prepare our minds with a good attitude.
Then, we can enjoy the feast.
The question we must ask ourselves is, “Why wouldn’t we, or why don’t we want to be chosen?”
God wants to choose us, and He is prepared to have us where He is, but ultimately it is our choice to take all the steps mentioned above.
God’s invitation extends to all of us.
