If The Savior Stood Beside Me, Would I Do The Things I Do?

Comments
If the Savior were standing next to me, would I do the things I do?
We learned today that peacemakers are needed. We can think about how to be a peacemaker by thinking about a help wanted sign. We discussed things we make in this life, such as making bread or making babies. It takes work and effort to make things.
What does it mean to make peace?
The ladies had a list of things we can do to make peace.
We Can
Think
Evaluate The Situation
Use Discernment
Pray
Not Fire Back Quickly
Be Slow To Anger
Not Take Things Personally
Learn
See Godliness In The Situation
Remember The Savior In Every Situation
Have Charity (for charity defines being a peacemaker)
Having personal peace can help us be more effective peacemakers.
How can we find personal peace?
We can have faith.
We can depend on the Holy Ghost.
We can keep our covenants.
We can keep the commandments.
We can use the Atonement.

In Order To Make And Keep Covenants, We Must Be Good At Keeping Commitments

Comments
“If you have a desire to live with Heavenly Father again, we must make certain efforts such as: Baptism and confirmation with the Holy Ghost, take the Sacrament to honor the covenants we make at baptism, receive our endowment in the temple, and love God and our neighbors.
Sometimes we feel that we can’t accomplish these commitments daily, but if we try God will give us the power by the priesthood to endure. We will learn to become closer to God and will want to become like Christ.
With the power Christ offers, we can go against the odds of failing, and things will get easier in life to accomplish and our desires to succeed will increase and our success will increase.
God loves His children and will give us every source to get back to Him.”
Linda Lovshin
“Today’s lesson/discussion taught me that committing to God wholeheartedly will bring healthy and powerful changes to our lives and the lives of others.”
Katrine Setterstrom
Questions To Ask Yourself
Why is it so hard to keep commitments?
After a few months or even after dedicating ourselves for maybe two years, we begin to get weary and tired and let life get in the way. We take all that progress and flush it away.
We can’t just be consistent in our commitments; we must be consistently committed.
What does this mean?
When we are consistently committed, we don’t just do the same things over and over again, we raise the level of our commitment.
Think of a commitment or commitments that God wants you to practice keeping and how those commitments will lead you to be a better covenant keeper.
Why are they important?
Why are they hard for you to commit to and stay committed to?
What will keeping these commitments do for you as a covenant keeper?
Challenge: Extend An Invitation To Yourself
“Be bold and confident as you (decide) to make commitments. Boldness shows your faith that [keeping commitments] brings blessings.
“Commitment is an essential part of making and keeping covenants.
“[You] will not likely change unless [you] invite [yourself] to do so.” Preach My Gospel
“When you teach [yourself] to keep [your] commitments, you are teaching [yourself] to become a covenant-keeper.” Elder Jeffrey R. Holland
Think of yourself as being as strong as the Amazon River and also being a tidal bore that causes you, the Amazon, to yield to heavenly powers—then keep your commitment.
