March Scripture
“And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep his commandments; and he has promised you that if ye would keep his commandments ye should prosper in the land; and he never doth vary from that which he hath said; therefore, if ye do keep his commandments he doth bless you and prosper you.”
Mosiah 2:22
March Quote
“We know the commandments. [The Lord] understands that when we keep the commandments, our lives will be happier, more fulfilling, and less complicated. Our challenges and problems will be easier to bear, and we will receive His promised blessings.”

Many are called but few are chosen.
We are chosen when we have the desire to be and when we want to put in the work to learn all we can of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and want to do all things that they require from us.
When we desire these things, we can open our heart to commit to do all we can to obey the commandments and covenants we made and make to pursue the path God and Jesus give us to get back to Them.
It may not be easy but in the end all the struggles, experiences, and learning will be worth it—especially compared to the easy way of the world that is not worth it.

We began today’s lesson singing Hymn #100—"Nearer My God To Thee.”
This hymn reminds us, and today’s lesson reminds us, that we choose to be near to God. God always wants to be near to us. In order to be near Him in His kingdom, we must follow His commandments.
In the parable of “The Royal Marriage Feast” found in Matthew 22:1-14, we see that to be where He invites us to be, we must respect His laws and keep His commandments. We must be prepared for the feast that He has prepared for us.
We must accept the invitation. We must come to the feast. We must dress appropriately. We must prepare our minds with a good attitude. Then, we can enjoy the feast.
The question we must ask ourselves is, “Why wouldn’t we, or why don’t we want to be chosen?” God wants to choose us and He is prepared to have us where He is, but ultimately it is our choice to choose the steps mentioned above.
God’s invitation extends to all of us.

Our goal in life is to strive each day to become worthy to gain eternal life. We will face struggles as we strive to gain eternal life, but as long as we look to Jesus for help, have faith in Him, and love Him with all our hearts, He will guide us and give us the strength to endure.
He encourages us and gives us hope so we can be successful in overcoming our trials. We also must have charity in our heart and do the same acts of kindness to others that He would do.
We must represent Christ to others of what He would say and do. We must Invite them to seek Him out. We must encourage in them the hope that His goal can be achieved, He is the example for all of us.
Linda Lovshin
“Life is a test, and it is supposed to be hard.” I learned that being tested is a gift from God. Many think of being tested through trials and tribulations in this life is too difficult, but if we turn our hearts toward Christ we will see that these tests are a sign of love from Him.
He knows how strong we are. He knows we can get through. He has seen us get through.
We can get through our tests by including the Savior in them. We include Jesus when we have a change of heart, when we try again each new day, when we gain understanding of who He is, and when we study about His nature and purpose.
We must create a legacy for our family by continuing the legacy of Christ. We live on forever through our ancestors. When we study them and who they are, we begin to want to respect who they were and what they did for us. In this way, we begin to leave a legacy of them through our example and actions. We become one with them.
When we build on their example, we show them respect and love. We can do this for others in the world too as it pertains to the legacy of Christ. He encourages us to act in giving to others hope and confidence as we gain these attributes ourselves by including the Savior in our life each day.
Sister Jill Pyrah told a story of a child wanting to know how he will find his mother in heaven after they die. The mother did not have an immediate answer for her son, so the son quickly thought of an answer.
He said, “We will meet each other by Jesus.”
Jesus is our friend. He loves us and is rooting for us to succeed through all the trials we face. He will meet us where we are and in the process teach us how to be one with Him.

In the hymn “Keep the Commandments,” it teaches that in keeping the commandments, we will have safety and peace in our lives. It also teaches that we will receive blessings from our Heavenly Father when we are obedient to His commandments. Thomas S. Monson said, “He [the Lord] understands that when we keep the commandments, our lives will be happier, more fulfilling, and less complicated. Our challenges and problems will be easier to bear and we will receive His promised blessings.
As we press forward in Christ as we keep the commandments, let us remember Mosiah 2:22 “And behold, all that he requires of you is to keep His commandments; and He has promised you that if ye would keep His commandments, ye shall prosper in the land; and He never doth vary from that which He hath said; therefore, if ye do keep His commandments, he doth bless and prosper you.”
The two great commandments are to love God and to love your neighbors. Carole M. Stephens stated that “His Commandments are a manifestation of His love for us and obedience to His commandments is an expression of our love for Him.”
