When we focus on Christ in our lives, it doesn't matter what are circumstances are, because of His Atonement, we can change from negative to positive to happiness. We trust in Christ's promises, and we know He is there for us. He helps me become like Him. Repentance can begin now.

Linda Lovshin

Love means having a "great interest and pleasure in something and having an intense feeling of deep affection for someone."

I learned that Christ has a great interest and pleasure in us and loves us more deeply than anyone else can.

I learned that love has a ripple effect and causes a pattern, like when you drop a rock in the water and a ripple and pattern is created. I learned that Christ sets a perfect pattern for us to follow, and when we keep the first two commandments, to love God and to love our neighbor, then it is easy to keep all the other commandments.

We can love a lot of things in life, like water or food, but those types of things are worldly and can't love us back. Christ will always love us and we can do better and be like Him, and once we know better, then we're able to do better. Love takes action, and before we came to Earth God presented a plan to us, and this plan was all about us loving one another and making it back to Him and learning from our experiences so that we can become like Him.

I learned that everyone shows their love differently, and that's okay.

If we really knew about people's circumstances, we wouldn't be so quick to judge them. We need not to look at outward appearances but look deeper into a person's heart. When we practice loving like our Heavenly Father and Jesus love, Their love will flow through us, then whatever He asks of us will be made easier and possible because He will give us the confidence we need to accomplish it.

Linda Lovshin

Katrine Setterstrom started the lesson by talking about Lehi's dream and the tree of life. Lehi wanted his family to come to the tree and enjoy the fruit. On the way to the tree, the people in the big and spacious building were judging and making fun of the people who were steadfastly holding on to the rod of iron to get to the tree.

Some of the people who were holding onto the rod fell away to forbidden paths and even some who had made it to the tree fell away, because the people making fun of them made them feel ashamed.

As we begin to judge others, we must first think about what we are not aware of. We do not know the wounds of others and instead of judging them, we should ask questions and find how we can aid in healing any wounds.

One unrighteous judgment can hinder someone's progress, causing them to let go of the rod of iron or discourage them from partaking of the fruit of the tree. We should, instead, when we see someone take their hands off the rod or deciding to walk away from the tree, grab their hand and hold them close to us, helping them feel the safety of Christ through love we can offer them, until they again feel sure of the direction they are wont to travel.

The gospel is simple. The path is narrow and straight, and our burdens are tailored to us so we can learn and become stronger, but we are not alone in this world and need the support of others.

Here is February.  The month that reminds us of love. Love is such an important action in our lives. Love is gratitude, kindness, forgiveness, patience, understanding, helping, listening, engaging, supporting. As we show these actions towards others, they will feel our love. It is so important to show love to those around you, to let them know they are important to you and their Savior. Take time this month to show actions of love to those you love.
